Hail! Hail! Rock ‘n’ Roll

AnElephantCant forget that Chuck Berry
Has been rocking since he learned to talk
Sweet Little Sixteen
School Days and Nadine
The man with the famous duck walk

As a man Chuck has had a few problems
He has given and taken hard knocks
The quite appalling
My Ding-a-Ling
But hey dudes this dude really rocks

He was a legend to the Stones and the Beatles
They covered his songs as all good rockers should
Like The Beach Boys and Bowie
Even Elvis took the vow (eh?)
They all said Go Go Johnny B. Goode

But You Never Can Tell with Chuck Berry
He called long distance from Memphis Tennessee
Let it Rock Maybellene
He lit up the whole scene
And told other rockers You Can’t Catch Me

He is the man who made Beethoven Roll Over
His whole life was Hail! Hail! Rock ‘n’ Roll
Here is one more time
AnElephantCant find a rhyme
He discovers he has No Particular Place to Go

Happy Birthday, Chuck, and thanks for the memories

Chuck Berry is 124 years old and still rocking

Wow! 124! AnElephant has given a very good memorial to one of the greatest of our time, and I think I will have johnny BeGoode as my song of the day if I can find it.

Worthy of a reblog I think.
