No Fairies No Tails Just Fairy Tales

St George by Phil Burns

St George by Phil Burns

AnElephantCant keep it a secret
He tries hard but alas to no avail
He struggles with normality
He loses touch with reality
And wanders happily into a Fairy Tale

It is a world populated by Dragons
And Giants and Magical things
Belief is suspended
Childish joy recommended
We see Golden Eggs and Beanstalks and Ugly Ducklings

The villagers are continually nagging
Saying hey Georgie why don’t you just jag him
With your big sharp lance
You have a great chance
To bag and defrag that old dragon

AnElephant sees The Three Bears Cottage
As he goes ambling through the dark wood
Goldilocks does not care
About Baby Bear’s broken chair
Is she looking for Little Red Riding Hood

He stops for tea with the Three Little Pigs
While the Big Bad Wolf huffs and puffs at the door
And is that pretty Miss
A Sleeping Beauty to be kissed
He wants to try that out for sure

He won’t dine with Hansel and Gretel
He sees through the Emperor’s New Clothes
He admires Snow White
But gets quite a fright
To discover she already has seven small beaux

He likes Tom Thumb and Pinocchio
He just adores sweet Tinker Bell
And last but not least
He loves Beauty and the Beast
AnElephant understands that tale all too well

About AnElephantCant

An artist/writer/poet combination whose blogs reflect an approach to life that celebrates nature and takes a tongue-in-cheek view of most issues. Nothing rude here. I enjoy your sense of humor Ms. Phant. I particularly liked your choices of F words, An. A thoroughly enjoyable blog. Sorry I’ve been gone so long. I’ll be back. 🙂

Well he does sometimes make rhymes for fart
      And bum and poo
      But only cos it’s true
These things brighten a little dude’s heart

Little dudes do like do do and poo.
Even Pooh likes poo, it’s true he do.
And so even me and even you
From time to time we gotta poo,
And when we do, we just gotta get to the loo
And do what we gotta do.

Which is laugh and make silly poems. 🙂

    Stories are the safest way
to slay dragons and kiss beasts
    post haste (without delay).
But when I’m taking my time,
    the stories are mine
and they unfold in unexpected ways.

    I imagine anElephant knows
how a tale’s plot may change
after his head hits the pillow
–Of the mad dash to type,
to get the story just right,
before the sun illuminates the branches of the willow.

But I realize now what I didn’t know then:
Fairy Tales live within me and you.

    I think AnElephant has imagination
Of fairy tales from the Brothers Grimm
    I think they are fun
    The way they are done
They definitely went out on a limb

    • AnElephantCant argue about this one
He does not like to be slandersome
      But he now reveals
      That his favourite tales
Are written by Hans Christian Andersen

Andersen Was also a great writer
That I have to give to you
But if you do the sum
        He was just one
Whereas with Grimm, there were two

Hehe. Sorry, best I could do at a moment’s notice. Yes, Andersen was good, but I personally prefer the horror of Grimm. 🙂
