The Little House has an Adventure

The Little House, the Dog Kennel and the Space Ship by Carolina Sartor

The Little House, the Dog Kennel and the Space Ship by Carolina Sartor

The little House says bye bye for now
As the spaceship heads for home
She decides that she’s not hanging around
I think I’ll have a little roam

Woof woof can I come I’ll be well behaved
The little House laughs at the plaintive appeals
Of course you can my faithful friend
So the Dog Kennel trots along at her heels

Through the rugged Scottish Borders
Down into Englandshire
The folk she sees are quite amazed
The pair cause quite a stir

As she approaches London
She sees the dread M25*
I think we will give this a miss
I prefer to stay alive

They arrive soon at the Channel
She formulates a clever plan
I’m going to pop along to Deal
And see my friend Leanne

She decides to sail across to France
Maybe visit un grand chateau
Perhaps even a wee romance
That would be the icing on le gateau

Or she can go to Italy
And see a Roman Villa
He may offer her some gelato
To chill her and to thrill her

She wonders where she’ll wander next
To which stormy seas and what lands
Will she ever feel her footsteps turn
Back home to Bonnie Scotland?

* The M25 is a motorway, famously described by Chris Rea as the Road to Hell, which circumscribes London

Ah this little house is a dreamer
    A friendly little wanderer
    A happy go lucky dream
    Seeking warmth by the sea
    It isn’t extreme
To want to be home you see
Even if home is away from home.

C’est tres joli ta petite histoire. Merci

    • The M25 is a 120-mile long (circumference) car park which is supposed to be a quick way around London and to Englandshire’s main airports at Heathrow and Gatwick. It fails on all possible counts.
But really happy you enjoyed the little House’s latest jaunt, she may become a regular protagonist on this site.

What Tilde reads and what she hears
    don’t always agree.
    Her mind picks and chooses
    what’s funniest to see.
    Instead of le gateau,
    she heard el gato.

    Is this frosted feline surprise
    a tasty delight in disguise?

    Should Tilde go bake
    a cat-shaped cake
    to celebrate
    a very
    important
    date?*

*I’m supposed to bake a child’s birthday cake this weekend and a frosted cat with a candy collar sounds purrrfect.

Good luck with romancing the wee. Too fun. Met some Brits two days ago at a beach bar, bevvies in hand, pining away for the charms of Coventry. “Brums have all the fun,” they claimed. I don’t believe them.

      Romancing the wee?
      Charms of Coventry?
      Brums?
But then he isn’t a Brit, he is a Scot.
Thank you for visiting and being so enigmatic.

Lucky you then…Me mate is from Coventry and thinks he’s a Brum from Birmingham. But an elephantcant be caught up in that Brit back-biting. All Apologies.

    Brilliance dear poet!

Having been ‘parked’ on the M25 more times than I care to remember I have to say Chris Rhea is right. Mind you Swindon’s Magic Roundabout takes some beating too.

    Love and light

I like the wandering house has allowed the kennel
To join it and become a rover
If they are ever down this way again
    They can come visit me in Dover;

I think they will have some fun
    And many stories to tell
    Especially with the Magic Roundabout
Which is what I call your Road to Hell
