AnElephant is Indechirable

Views of Macon on the River Saone

Views of Macon on the River Saone

AnElephantCant be hurried
He drifts on at his own leisurely pace
Wanders down the Saone
Till he reaches Macon
Another quite wonderful place

Macon, in the Department of Saône-et-Loire, at night.

Macon, in the Department of Saône-et-Loire, at night.

The river has a potent tranquillity
The city has a life of its own
He has a meal in the square
Spends a cool evening there
Then follows the Saone to its confluence with the Rhone

He gets slightly lost north of Lyon
Gets directions from a Madame quite endearable
Who points him on his way
AnElephant says okay
And buys une carte indechirable*

He meets two delightful young Swedish ladies
Ulrika and Emma make AnElephant smile
They could not be fabber
If they were singing with Abba
He takes them a little bit nearer Marseille

Avignon – Le Pont, the Theatre and the Palais des Papes

He stops off for water at Avignon
A city with a two thousand year history
He remembers the song
Dances sur le pont
The attraction it has is no mystery

Avignon - The Palais des Papes and the Chapel of St Benezet on Le Pont

Avignon – The Palais des Papes and the Chapel of St Benezet on Le Pont

The Palace of the Popes and Cathedral are magnificent
From the hill he sees miles of Provence
He just loves this city
With its cool childish ditty
He moves on with his heart full of songs

Luvvly verse. And I am soooo envious of you being there. I have been stuck in Canada for decades – for various reasons – and sooo want to return to Europe to live. Maybe when I get a pension, then I can buy myself a pension in France.
Beautiful photos, great story – very inventive. Glad I’m following your site.!

AnElephant is telling us so much
He posts with a song and a dance
    He fills us with awe
As he tells us the lore
Of different places he visits in France.
