AnElephant is Walking on the Moon

Fly Me to The Moon by Phil Burns

Fly Me to The Moon by Phil Burns

AnElephantCant fly to the moon
Although it is the greatest adventure he can find
He remembers Neil and Buzz
Who cause all the fuss
When they make that giant leap for Mankind

But it is somewhere around 40 years now
Since our USA friends do anything lunar
That does seem quite sad
Unless the parking is bad
Or else why do they not revisit sooner

The moon is the topic of much music
AnElephant thinks this is by far the best
More than the Moonlight Sonata
Or Fly me by Sinatra
He loves the amazing Neil Young and his beautiful Harvest

Another song that he remembers fondly
Is about a River that is wider than a mile
His Huckleberry friend
Is waiting round the bend
That always makes AnElephant smile

Like Floyd does he go to the Dark Side
Or perhaps find Tranquillity in the Sea
What does he say
If he goes all that way
To discover that he does not like green cheese

AnElephant thinks it is real cool to go there
Put a smile on the Man in the Moon’s face
There have been doggies and monkeys
Maybe even a donkey
But he is thrilled to be the first pachyderm in space

Mr. Elephant, I love your limericks. You bring a smile to my face each time I visit. I have a special relationship with the moon so I shall call this one my favorite for now. ❤ Enjoy the full moon this week!!

Funny that you talk today about the moon…. I found my homework from when I was 10 and in it are newspaper cutouts from Apollo 14. That used to be proper cut and past jobs…. 🙂

Visiting the moon would be glorious wouldn’t it? Surveying the craggy moon looking out at the earth and beyond, especially while listening to such wonderful selections of music! 🙂 xo

I like what AnElephant has written
Especially the part about the cheese
    But I want to know
    If he would go
If he knew he was walking there with the Police?

Very clever! What an adventure that would be! You certainly put a smile on my face, as did Phil’s art. You have your own Sea of Tranquillity right on your doorstep!
    Love Harvest Moon, also Moondance.
