He suggests you hide behind the sofa before you start!
They know this is the most dangerous place on earth.
The treacherous, swampy, humid area where the last, and most savage, of the beasts hide.
They move slowly along the bank, eyes straining, watching for the slightest indication that danger is near.
They are almost soundless, yet the leader raises a hand in warning.
They stop as one, listening for a breath in the undergrowth.
Not even the sound of a bird.
Their eyes scan the surface of the pool.
Not a hint of wind.
The water lies silent.
The trees are silent.
The grass is silent.
A barely heard whisper.
Can you see anything?
Not yet, but I think we are close now.
The leader replies without turning his head, his eyes focussed on a tree hanging low over the reeds.
He points with his weapon, drawn and primed.
It’s a dragon, Grandpa!
