The Heist – Sunday Photo Fiction

 AnElephantCant wear a crown
His head is waaayyyy too big for that
He needs a team of volunteers
To hold back his ears
So that he can try on a new hat

This is a weekly invitation to write a short piece of fiction (c. 150 words) based on a photo prompt (below) provided by Alastair.
Follow the link to see a treasure trove of stories.
But please read AnElephant’s little jewel first.
Or perhaps you just want to sing along?
Bohemian Rhapsody, by Queen, anybody?

The Heist

Well, that was the greatest robbery in the history of the world!
You are a genius, no one else could have planned it so perfectly.
But I needed you, little brother, no one else can open vaults like you can.
Thanks, I am glad we got together again for this last job.
Well, I knew it was time to let bygones be bygones, I think you learned from your mistake.
Certainly did, will never open my mouth again!
I know that, little brother, I know that.
So is it time to divide this up with the rest of the gang?
I already took care of the guys.
So all of this is just between us? Just you and me, yeah!
Hmm, about that ….

About AnElephantCant

An artist/writer/poet combination whose blogs reflect an approach to life that celebrates nature and takes a tongue-in-cheek view of most issues. So you get rhymes and doodles, photographs and comment. Irreverent and irrelevant. Occasionally funny, sometimes serious, mostly pointless. https://anelephantcant.me/

Kablam! Somehow, it seems this ends with a gunshot, with a sound of thunder. Honor among thieves they say. This is very clever and very amusing. Well done!

Fantastic! I agree, it definitely has elements of The Joker in there. Nice touch that it is his brother, makes the betrayal even more shocking!
