Coffee Man

We call him the coffee man.
I think my darling wife spends too much time at the little beach café owned by the oh so charmant Frenchman.
And I think all Frenchmen look like great hairy gorillas!
Those silly moustaches and bushy eyebrows.
She giggles at me, says don’t be silly, sweetheart.
Then goes off to call Roli, her best friend, probably to laugh at me.
Roli!
Abbreviated from Carolina, in that clever way they have.
So smart, her and all her St Andrews University chums.
She always tells me she loves me, but I know the truth.
I never have been good enough, educated enough, for her.
And I hear her on the phone to good old Roli.
I just love the coffee man, she says.
I get my hunting knife and wait for her.
As she looks aghast at her entrails, I tell her why.
She gasps her last words.
Roli wasn’t there, my darling.
I was talking about the coffee.
To her husband, Emanuel.
Man!

Silly, cute nicknames. What does it cost to just say a few extra syllables? Apparently, it won’t cost your life 😉 Humorous and dark, I loved it!

Oh the power that jealousy can have over us. I know it is a thriller, but I still found your writing entertaining in a comic fashion. Very enjoyable, and I love the french gorilla link to the image haha
