heaven is gone

heaven is gone by anelephantcant

heaven is gone by anelephantcant

once I lived in Paradise
a land blessed with the sun
but November came with cold east wind
and now heaven is gone

once I danced with angels
swam with mermaids just for fun
but they no longer visit here
now that heaven is gone

once I smelled golden daffodils
sported garlands bravely won
but all the flowers withered and died
now that heaven is gone

once I played games with butterflies
their soft wings gently shone
but they too are ephemeral
and now heaven is gone

once I created rainbows
seven colours one by one
then watched them slowly fade away
now that heaven is gone

once I loved a perfect girl
her beauty incandescent
but I contrived to let her go
she took heaven when she went

This is such a lovely poem, if poignant. So beautifully written. Mais alors vous avez un sens de la formule. Il semble que dans les mois d’hiver, tenue dans les bras d’un autre est raté … plus que jamais, il semble …

this is so painful to read; i love how you compared paradise to being loved, and how it is lost so simply. ❤ thank you for sharing! 🙂

Touched my heart even when I read the title first of all… Maybe my words can’t help but I want to say again, it is philosophical I know, (I try to remember sometimes for myself too) we carry our own heavens with ourselves… Eveerything in our heart… but after this, heart will take us to the point of your poem too ahhhh… anyway, I loved reading your poem. Thank you, love, nia

Thank god for a tender heart and it’s ability to crack or even break…..it’s the grist for great art.

C’est comme un arc-en-ciel sans couleurs, comme ta photo ce poeme.
Tres beau. Le rythme et la cadence des mots restent justes tout du long.
Un vrai creve coeur en ce jour gris…

  11. ‘Heaven is gone’ itself gives a heartbreaking feel..and then you added those descriptions.. beautifully and sad. Yes, it feels like she has taken the heaven but infact, in first place, she made heaven in hell.. and when she goes, everything else remains the same.
