stars that dance

faintly coloured by anelephantcant

faintly coloured by anelephantcant

a faintly coloured thread has snapped
you have changed though I’m the same
and suddenly I’m all adrift
I now can’t recall my name

once we meandered hand in hand
heading in the same direction
I suddenly am out of touch
I can’t see my own reflection

I thought I knew your heart’s desires
understood what we were seeking
but recently I miss the point
I can’t hear the words I’m speaking

like stars that dance across night skies
I follow where you lead me
as clouds obscure those long gone lights
I know that you no longer need me
