memories of you

memories by phil burns

memories by phil burns

silver fish dance in moonlit surf
mermaids frolic in turquoise hue
we two holding hands on golden sands
these are my memories of you

water falls down a steep sided gorge
eagles soar in skies brilliant blue
ravens who call to tell you they guard
these are my memories of you

fountains bubble on moss covered rock
cobbled lanes that were never new
city of artists vibrant alive
these are my memories of you

hair tangled wild in summer Mistral
dazzling smiles that I believed true
eyes with a promise of eternity
these are my memories of you

casual goodbye when last we met
a heart that is broken in two
tears that keep flowing never to stop
these are my memories of you

    Beautiful as always.
Love in magical places has a glow of its own, and binds the soul to its spell.
I love the reference to Aix.
A place full of memories for me as well. Magic indeed.

  5. Dear Elephant,

No wonder you’re such a tender shade of pink.
My screen blurred as I read.
    Quite lovely and sad.

Beautiful. I’m saddened by this piece though. Poor Elephant.
