AnElephantCant pretend he is a dog
He is not quite as fast as a snail
He is really quite thick
Cannot fetch a stick
And despite years of practice he still can’t wag his tail

Dog Food

She is standing at the roadside, weeping.
Her face is swollen, eye turning blue, lip bleeding.
Her nose looks broken.
I tell her I have friends who can look after her.
She won’t leave without her dog.
She points to the house, tells me the man, Frank, is dangerous.
I sit her in the car, make a call, tell her to relax.
I go in through the kitchen door.
