morning sun

morning sun by anelephantcant

morning sun

fragments of thoughts
masquerade
as clouds
the argent sea
gleams
like a diamond
at her throat
the parasol pines
awaken
in a gasp
of gourmet green
birds sing
the Hallelujah
paradise
inspired
by a sprinkle
of the most beautiful
of nature’s
wondrous gifts
the magic
of the morning sun
tentatively
touchingly
creeping
gently upwards
illuminating a sky
as blue as
her eyes

I love the form or shape this one is written it. Sparse but brilliant details, associating things and nature with this woman, no longer here. In this vivid description though, he remembers her well. Hugs

Oh, this is stunning. It’s rich and yet houses a touch of the foreboding, these lines:
    the argent sea
    gleams
    like a diamond
    at her throat

totally gave it away to me, caught me unawares, at the throat – beautiful and haunting, speaking of loss ….

the rest is just equally poignant – a man of many gifts and talents – hallelujah indeed (I sense/feel a hint of Cohen here too – which means – bloody brilliant in my books) …

    cheers!

    • I was basking in the warmth of your wonderful compliments, pink with delight, and then…
The comparison to the genius that is Mr Cohen left me red with embarrassment.
Even a hint is too much, to be in the same world was always pleasure enough.
Thank you, I am very happy that the poem gave you such enjoyment.
      Cheers

        LOL@the Cohen embarrassment.

        seriously? I said a tinge, a(n) hint?
yes, yes, it is a genuine compliment – but for all of it, you shouldn’t be flustered. Cohen was inspired, and clearly, his own man – but then, so are you, so it’s all good.

        (I’m still chuckling …. )
        cheers!
