yet unknown

lies and rust by anelephantcant

Click here to hear the poet read his words:

yet unknown

I talk of my unhappiness
to the wind and birds and trees
understand that I must never count
the tears nobody sees

I recall all your bland promises
now sadly turned to dust
hear the echo of the wedding bells
silenced by lies and rust

seconds or years keep slipping by
I miss your smiling eyes so much
I’d give a decade of my life
for just one more tender touch

you need some time to find yourself
say give me space to be alone
neglect to come back to my arms
for reasons yet unknown

About AnElephantCant

An artist/writer/poet combination whose blogs reflect an approach to life that celebrates nature and takes a tongue-in-cheek view of most issues. So you get rhymes and doodles, photographs and comment. Irreverent and irrelevant. Occasionally funny, sometimes serious, mostly pointless. https://anelephantcant.me/
