who are you

who are you by anelephantcant

Click here to hear the poet read his words:

who are you

who are you

what are you
doing
to my heart
it stops beating
when you appear
it simply aches
in your absence

what are you
doing
to my eyes
they see nothing
but you
when you are here
and nothing
but tears
when you are not

what are you
doing
to my ears
they listen only
to your voice
no matter who speaks
and to no one
when you are gone

what are you
doing
to my arms
they want only
to hold you
they are
uselessly
empty
after you leave

what are you
doing
to my soul
it exists only
in your presence
it leaves
when you do

what are you
doing
to me

who are you
