book in hand by anelephantcant

Click here to hear the poet read his words:

I wonder if you think of me

in the morning
as you head to work
gazing at the fleeting fields
does my face come to your mind

in the evening
with a book in hand
or watching television
do you remember
how we laughed
at something trivial

when you lie in bed
calmly watching sleep approach
do you recall
the words I spoke
or wrote
in stories
and on postcards
or are they
like me
already forgotten

About AnElephantCant

An artist/writer/poet combination whose blogs reflect an approach to life that celebrates nature and takes a tongue-in-cheek view of most issues. So you get rhymes and doodles, photographs and comment. Irreverent and irrelevant. Occasionally funny, sometimes serious, mostly pointless.
