when the ripples began

when the ripples began by anelephantcant

Click here to hear the poet read his words:

when the ripples began

looking back I remember
when the ripples began
that exact moment
when my life
lost tranquillity

like a sweet gentle breeze
your smile
brushed my mind
and your eyes
and mine
started dancing

your voice soft as love
your accent beguiled
my ears
were enchanted
and heard
not a word

but these days are long gone
and my life
is now calm
though there are times
when I still miss you

my soul starts to writhe
and my heart beat is faster
because
looking back I remember
that exact moment
when the ripples began

About AnElephantCant

An artist/writer/poet combination whose blogs reflect an approach to life that celebrates nature and takes a tongue-in-cheek view of most issues. So you get rhymes and doodles, photographs and comment. Irreverent and irrelevant. Occasionally funny, sometimes serious, mostly pointless. https://anelephantcant.me/
